The Montgomery bus boycott lasted 13 months. 13 months of folks walking to work or carpooling or losing jobs because they couldn't get to work on time. It took 13 months and many violent deaths to put the bus companies out of business. But they did, they put them out of business because rich folks had cars, but it was the poor and the working class who kept the bus companies in business.
